Microstructure and Meso-Mechanical Properties of Asphalt Mixture Modified by Rubber Powder under a Multi-Scale Effect

The applications of rubber-modified asphalt and its mixtures have received widespread attention due to the environmental economic benefits such materials. However, studies on structural performance rubber-powder-modified pavement are only concentrated a certain scale, leading research mostly focusing mechanical responses at macro scale. Therefore, present study adopts concept multi-scale analyze viscoelasticity high-dosage-modified microscopic scale from perspective meso-mechanical analysis. In this paper, ensure overall durability structure, effective film thickness coarse aggregate angularity index test material were measured first. modified with rubber powder was then analyzed using Brinell viscosity test, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dynamic shear rheometer (DSR).
